The location is so convenient to the beach, the dunes, etc

We stayed at Harbert Hideaway home several times as they have truly created the coziest home away from home. The place is so well curated expertly blending old and new for a modern rustic cottage in the woods vibe. Kitchen is well equipped and they provide everything you could want for a comfortable stay. We’ve enjoyed breakfast on their back deck overlooking their giant backyard and have seen deer on multiple occasions. Our kids love playing on the swingset, napping in the hammock, taking a dip in the hot tub, and roasting marshmallows on the firepit. We’ve curled up by a fire and played board games, dined on their screened in porch for bug free meals, and enjoyed movie nights with the projector screen in the family room. Best of all is the view of the forest from the large picture window. The location is so convenient to the beach, the dunes, hiking trails, a pumpkin patch, apple orchards, and nearby towns for antique shopping and restaurants in New Buffalo, Union Pier, and Three Oaks. We highly recommend staying here for a memorable trip

A short drive from Chicago

Harbert Hideaway home is amazing! A thousand little touches make it feel immediately like your (cooler) home away from home. The furniture, beds, blankets, and linens are all so comfy. A big dining table right off the kitchen, yet connected to the other living spaces, encourages everyone to stay connected and gather around, while there’s still plenty of space to spread out if you need some quiet or alone time. I visited in the Fall but can only imagine how wonderful hanging on the huge decks and screened-in porch would be in summer, or around the fire pit in the back. Location is perfect too. A short drive from Chicago for those from IL, a quick walk to the most delish local bakery, and a quick drive or bike ride to the beach if you’re bringing “stuff”, but also a scenic walk if you’re just going yo stroll along the shore at sunset. Also quick drive to plenty of shops, restaurants, and Granor Farm. The home is clean, beautifully eclectic, and cozy, but with all your modern necessities. You won’t want to leave. I would 100% stay here again!

I could not stop looking around at all the neat things

From the moment you walk into the Bright Michigan cottage you feel relaxed! You also feel like you need to change the decor and vibe of your own house because of their amazing, eclectic style. I could not stop looking around at all the neat things and it was fun to enjoy meals/ drinks in that sort of space. The hosts thought of everything to make their house comfortable for others..the beds and bedding were great- there is everything in the kitchen one would need- the shower is great. We went to the bakery down the street and I am obsessed with their breakfast foods! We also took a beach hike on Lake Michigan and went to some cool antique stores and breweries. I can not wait to rent this place again- it is perfect for a ladies (or men's) weekend or a family trip!We will be back!

It was amazing!

I stayed at Harbert Hideaway house in Michigan and it was amazing! All the little details made it feel both homey and modern and it was perfect for our weekend away. It was bright and open and fit 6 adults easily. There is a beautiful view out back and we saw several deer wandering through the woods in back. It is walking distance to the beach (probably a better drive though if you go in the summer with all your stuff), a cute and delicious bakery and a lovely wooded hike. It was perfect for a girls weekend away and I think it would be a great place for a family or two to vacation as well!

We can’t wait to return again!

The Bright Cabin is a welcoming, beautiful, and comfortable retreat. I’ve stayed here multiple times—whether with my family (including three kids), with six adults, or with another family—and there’s always plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The thoughtful, beautiful touches added by the owner make the cabin feel like a true home away from home. The location is perfect, close to everything you need. Our favorite activity is driving the short distance to the beach, where we can easily spend the entire afternoon into the evening. If we ever forget something, it’s never a problem since the beach is so close. We also love relaxing on the back deck, soaking in the hot tub, and enjoying the peaceful wildlife—deer and birds in the woods.Additionally, the nearby towns of Three Oaks, New Buffalo, and Sawyer are charming and offer plenty to explore. We’ve truly enjoyed every visit to the Bright Cabin, and we can’t wait to return again!
